Fall Quarter Practices Start on September 19th!
August 22nd, 2017 · by
Back with news! School is starting again soon and that means only one
thing: time to finalize all of your plans for the upcoming club tennis
Let's start with a recap: If you haven't been paying attention to our
social media channels, you may not
be aware that this previous February saw our club win the 2017 USTA
Midwest Tennis on Campus Club of the Year award. This gave us an
automatic bid to the 2017 USTA Tennis on Campus National Championship
at the new USTA National Campus in Orlando in April. The previous week,
we competed at the 2017 USTA Tennis on Campus Spring Invitational
in Phoenix, Arizona. Wondering what happened?
We vlogged everyday of both tournaments. You
can check them out on our YouTube channel.
Anyway, now that fall is almost here, we've announced our schedule for
September. This includes the Student Involvement Fair, Travel
Team Tryouts, and the first practice of the year, which will
be held at Lakeshore Sport and Fitness on Tuesday, September 19th from
9:00 to 11:00pm.
More information regarding all of the above is forthcoming, but, for
the form is live to sign-up for both the first
practice and travel team tryouts (click
here!). Space is limited
this year, so make sure to sign-up as soon as possible to reserve your
spot at practice!
As always, stay tuned to
Twitter for the most up-to-date
information and announcements.

Coach Ardizzone Talks to Us About Tennis on
February 13th, 2017 · by
update today covering a couple of different things going on with the
club: an interview with Coach Ardizzone, our recent volunteer
work, and Midwest Sectionals.
Last month, we stopped by DePaul University Women's Tennis Head Coach
Mark Ardizzone's office to talk to him about tennis here at DePaul,
how having a successful club team like ours positively affects the
varsity tennis programs, and what he loves most about the opportunities
the USTA has created with its Tennis on Campus program. We've
been extremely fortunate to have had Mark's support on
several different levels over the past few years and we really couldn't
be where we are without him.

well worth a couple minutes your time.
This past weekend, we partnered with the Chicago District Tennis
Association to put on our first ever USTA Play Day at The Ray.
The event was a huge success and we're already looking forward to the
next one in May! More volunteer/community service events coming soon!
Finally, USTA Midwest Sectionals are this weekend in Madison,
Wisconsin! We're seeded #7 out of 32 teams. Follow along on all of our
various social media accounts to stay up-to-date on how we progress:

Winter Quarter Practices Start January 10th!
January 9th, 2017 · by
back, everyone! Welcome to Club Tennis 2017. As the title of this post
states, winter quarter practices start up again tomorrow, January
10th, at Lakeshore Sport and Fitness on Fullerton.
Those of you who are returning members know the drill: bring $50
with you to cover the club dues and you're all set for the rest of
winter quarter. For those of you who are new, all you need to do
is show up to practice! We'll have you fill out a waiver, and once
you've paid your $50 in club dues, you're a full member of the club.
There are no skill requirements and we don't cut anyone. As
mentioned above, practices are held at Lakeshore Sport and Fitness (1320
W. Fullerton Ave.) from 9:00 to 11:00pm, every Tuesday night throughout
the quarter. Included with your dues is a free t-shirt, which our friend
Roger is modeling in the picture above.
We have a lot of exciting events coming up this quarter, both on and off
the court, so stay tuned to the
social media accounts to stay
informed. If you have any questions whatsoever, please don't hesitate to
ask! All of the relevant
contact information is available here.

Thanks Again to DePaul University Women's Tennis!
October 17th, 2016 · by
Sunday, for the fourth time in as many years, our club had the immense
privilege of having one of our practices run by Coach Mark Ardizzone and
the DePaul University Women's Tennis team.
As I've said a million times before in a million different posts on this
site and our social media accounts, I can't even begin to tell you how
lucky we have been to hold this event with our varsity team. As far as
I'm aware, we're still the only club team in the country that
gets to participate in an event like this. All of the credit goes to Coach Ardizzone,
who constantly goes above and beyond in the support of our club and of
tennis here on campus at DePaul. I'll say it again for what it's worth--thank you, Mark, for
giving so much back.
In our own effort to give back to the community, our executive board
braved a monsoon yesterday morning to volunteer at Apna Ghar's Stride
Against Violence 5K in Montrose Harbor. This is the second year
we've been able to donate our time and money to the cause of ending
domestic violence. If you're reading this post and looking for ways to
volunteer your time for the greater good of our Chicago community,
please feel free to reach out to me. We're making a concerted effort as
a club to volunteer as much as we can this academic year.
A video with highlights from the women's team practice is coming soon,
but, for now, click the link below to visit our
YouTube channel and watch the videos from
